Deviousness |
I have to admit that I've always had difficulties understanding what is and what isn't suitable for younger audiences. Obviously you don't show porn to someone under 18 but what I mean is that sometimes something that I feel isn't all that bad is deemed to be explicit content and vice versa. Most of the time, this is a cultural thing: for example, what is acceptable to portray in a young teens' novel or comic album in Sweden or Denmark might be seen completely unsuitable in the United States.
Since dA's is an American service with its headquarters in Los Angeles (been there twice, loved it) I usually try to play it safe without compromising my output. However, if you really think this isn't too inapproriate, I guess I could remove the filter. Oh, and just to avoid any misunderstandings, I wasn't being sarcastic with my reply. This is honestly something that continues to confuse me.
However, Mrs. Incredible appeared in the Disney movie [which was shown in American theaters] wearing that very outfit, as tightly as Maddie is wearing it. Believe me, it's not considered mature content by the staff. You're safe. Children see more by going to the beach or pool.
What you wanna avoid is frontal nudity. Even seen bare asses pass the bar and remain unfiltered; usually when they're not depicted sexually [bent over/heavy focus/highly suggestive]. But nipple slips and vulvae in clear view will likely get moderated.
When I upload at pixiv [Japanese site, and I don't fluently speak the language], I mark my borderline imagery "R-18" [restricted 18+ only], because, even though they're culturally more 'open' concerning sex[ual content], I'm not always sure what may be crossing the line.
I can lawyer my way around DA's rules/regulations but that's because I can read and understand English. Pixiv is a whole 'nother ball game for me though so I play it safe, like you did.
