Commission for :iconsniperm1d:. I had already sketched this pic by January but due to computer problems I wasn't able to finish it until last weekend.

What you're looking at here is pretty much a cartoonized version of the live action TFOP movie's ending, except more serious. It's pretty much the ultimate visual image of the resolved, cathartic ending you usually don't get to see in a movie or a TV show but you know is there. I guess it's often omitted because it's not really part of the original story anymore (it's basically the beginning of a new one). Nonetheless, they're satisfying to see and that's the idea with this picture :)

Both Timmy and Tootie are modeled after their live action counterparts, with the commissioner and myself doing some modifications in order to make them fit their original cartoon variants more. I had some trouble creating consistent background elements since they seem to differ from episode to episode. Of course, TFOP is long-running show with eight seasons behind it and ninth coming up, so there's bound to be changes in the art style. In the end, I just went for a mixture of different styles and some of my own additions as well.

Hope you like it!

Also, you really ought to thank the commissioner as well since I usually don't do these kinds of pics :P this was his idea, I just visualized it on the canvas.

I really like this, because it does the animated style of the show good. WAY good. There's just no way to explain how much this works. :U

I'd even go as far as to say you did better with Butch's style than he did originally. Well, in the old old episodes I mean. New ones are kinda dumb. ._.

....True, the movie sucked. But I don't think Butch had OLDER FANS of FOP in mind. The writing could've been a little better and the plot could've been less trite, but you gotta come to terms that this shit's for kids, despite whether or not they wanna please the periphery demographic. You're better of just writing you own shit and not let yourself get caught up in the "shipping wars" and entitled fan bullshit. Hell, just look at most of the BRONY fandom and all the people who love to ship Ben (10) and Gwen. Seriously!! I understand they're fucking cartoons, but they're FUCKING COUSINS!!! That kinda shit, I don't even think the porn industry (depending what your country allows within standards) want a part of that.

I see your point and I wholeheartily agree with the whole shipping thing, it tends to get out of hand all too easily and ends up just causing unnecessary drama. Still, I would argue against the "this shit's for kids" defense as I feel that in the end it doesn't matter who you write it for, adults or children, it should still be a quality product. Hell, the pilot episodes as well as the early seasons were also for primarily aimed for kids and I absolutely love them (and no, I didn't see them when they first aired when I was still a teenager, I saw them as an adult). There's a noticeable shift towards a more over-the-top, cardboard-ish character design when you watch the series from beginning to the most current episode. The general premise of the show has not that changed much but it's obvious they're either running out of ideas or they really just want to go for the cheap laughs that don't require much more beyond flanderization. What's baffling is that the live action movie probably had more character development than the actual series since 'Channel Chasers'. That being said, I still don't think they did a good job with it.

I'd say it's the frequent changes in writers (which was--and probably still is--what Family Guy or anything HackFarlane shits out these days), plus the fact they've run out of ideas, plus general disinterest in the series is kinda what killed it for me. In fact, I'm beginning to think Butch lost interest after season 3 when he tried to end it with the Jimmy Timmy crossover movies (Which to this day, I still think it would've been a bad idea). I just learn to give up on the idea of letting writers listening to people interested in the show (I try not to use "fans" because there's already stigma about fandoms today--See Bronies XD). Hartman just gonna see it as a show for kids, and throw in some "edgy" pop culture references so the adults are watching. I don't the HE even cares for the show that much either. T.U.F.F. Puppy's alright, but I don't see it getting in no more than 3 Seasons. Plus the fact that Butch's inner furfag is showing.

You're absolutely right about the writers, they really have a big impact on a series. I've learned to recognize their effect much better after I started watching MLP:FIM – it's baffling how much the quality of an episode may vary depending on who's behind the script. I haven't followed the writing of TFOP in a similar fashion but I do think that while some of the flanderization kicked in during S2, it was around S3 when things started to go wrong and the series' overall quality started to suffer. S5, I think, is still the worst of worst. The series should've ended with 'Channel Chasers', that one still had some dignity with it.

As for Hartman not caring, it certainly feels that way a lot of the times. Most of the later episodes are definitely more joke-driven, and not in a good Golden Age Looney Tunes way either. He probably has that "it's for the kids" mentality, not to mention he's already reached a status where he's looked upon as one of Nick's most valuable members which may have led him to believe that he no longer needs to put as much effort into his works as before. It's a real shame, too, because I think Hartman is a good idea guy, he just cannot seem to hold on to that idea and tends to just make it similar to TFOP in its later years.

Still, I doubt I'll ever be able to dislike him as much as McFarlane, though. He'd probably have to make Timmy Turner's new fairy dog or Dudley Puppy spew out Hartman's political views first before that happens.

MacFarlane, I think, used to be a good writer at one point (Johnny Bravo ring a bell?) Then after the revived Family Guy (TWICE!!) It seems he started coasting on idea of having an easily-amused demographic that laughs at blatant misogyny, unnecessarily dark humor, cheap pop culture jokes, OBSCURE pop culture jokes, and Meg-abuse. So basically....Every frat brother, every teenager, every 14-year-old sporting a Cannibal Corpse T-shirt, trying to fill the void of Invader Zim while beating up emo kids and calling everyone NOT into metal a "fag" with the false and often-unwarranted sense of superiority, etc. Now he just repeats himself like a jackass, and pretty much pigeonholed himself in the same category as the Wayans Bros. and anyone who's worked with them (Setzer and Friedberg, if I'm not mistaken). And I know most of the writing's not HIS fault, exactly, but he plays EVERY OTHER MALE CHARACTER in the Goddamn series. You'd think he'd notice the shitty jokes under his watch. Then again...COASTING.

All I gotta say is, his only saving grace in my opinion is American Dad.

I think he could take a lesson from Matt and Trey on not letting your political views dominating your writing. At least with South Park, even if it shows, they're quick to attack everybody including themselves and at least give us a hint of truth rather than using strawmen to prove their arguments. When Seth does it....It's like watching a puppet show written by a desktop college liberal and his kid brother who doesn't even know what's going on.

I'd just wish he'd go on hiatus....A 5-YEAR HIATUS. Or at least a long-enough hiatus to realize that a little subtlety goes a long way. Actually, I think the guys behind Drawn Together might have something to do with his decline. The show started out funny, but it too got needlessly dark. What started out as a good concept of the first animated reality show, ended up being blatant sex jokes and unnecessary toilet and gallows humor. So pretty much....Shadbase. Which explains why Shaddai made the predictable transition to gore-porn. Like he's not even shooting for a demographic.

I tried to like Drawn Together but it didn't take more than the first season before I had pretty much formed my mostly negative opinion about the show. I think I managed to sit through S2 and part of S3 but after that I just stopped watching it. Sure, I liked to see some skin from the princess and Foxy but as I've said before, T&A alone won't save a shitty movie or a TV show.

Shadbase... now there's someone I just... I don't know. I see blinks of someone who's got potential to do something great but instead goes for, well, the things you mentioned. He does seem to have a lot of popularity, though, and I have to say it doesn't surprise me as much as it makes me roll my eyes. He seems to be more obsessed with going for raunchy jokes and shock value than working on his art. I obviously don't mind the hardcore sex aspect but I do feel it could be done with more thought. As for the gore porn stuff, just no.

Just to get it out of the way, the movies may not have been great, but, IMHO, they were much, much better than the show has been in many years.

This picture...I love it. I love Timmy/Tootie. Recent episodes challenge the hell out of this logic, but I don't care. In spite of how she carries herself, she genuinely cares for Timmy; she loves him for him and could give half a shit about the stuff he has.

For this picture, it seems they've had to do some growing up (figuratively and literally*; she needs to calm down, he needs to realize that a. girls aren't so bad and b. not every problem can be solved with fairies). Even though it's not how you'd have it, you did a marvelous job.

* - I couldn't help but notice Tootie's Hartman Hips. Very nice.
